London isn't waiting for me...

Fri Oct 19, 2007, 2:01 PM
  • Mood: Mortified
... that's the title of a very known song here in Israel.
London isn't waiting for me, I'll be alone there too.

Less then a month from now the one dream that I have consistent about since ever, the one thing I never changed my mind about, never stopped hoping for is finally going to come true - I'm gonna leave Israel and move to England.

I think it's needless to say how scared I am - terrified (I don't even know how to spell that word!). I have a place to live for the first three months, and a more-then-less guaranteed job for that same duration. It's all completely legal, and like I said I've been dreaming about this moment for so long - but I panic now and I don't wanna lose this chance.

I really really don't.

However, I forgot to add that unlike the US, where you usually pick a major and minors but have the time and chance to change your mind - in Israel you don't have that option, you have to choose one or two subject and changing it is usually impossible unless you start the whole year, or years, all over again.

wow that sounds so strange to me. I know a few people here who have college degrees and have jobs now that have nothing to do with their degrees, people change their minds a lot here maybe  I hope you find something you love! we can talk any time you want

Thanks dear.

I had a long talk with the addviser in the school were I work, and come to realize that 22 is actually the average age to start uni in Israel. So yeah, things are better at the moment.
